With over a decade of experience in a self-contained behavior support classroom, I’ve dedicated my career to working with students who are often misunderstood, labeled, or removed from traditional school settings. My work has focused on designing and implementing individualized behavior plans, coaching students with significant emotional and behavioral needs, and collaborating closely with families and interdisciplinary teams to support full-day reintegration and long-term success.
But my connection to this work runs deeper than professional experience — it’s personal.
I was that student who struggled to stay focused, follow the rules (especially the ones that didn’t make sense to me), and fit into the expectations of school. I know what it feels like to be sent out of class, to hear words like “disruptive” or “unfocused,” and to feel like I didn’t fit into the system. I always believed I was smart and capable — but sometimes the tests and the feedback made me feel like I wasn’t.
What changed my path was my family, along with teachers and mentors who didn’t give up. They gave me the tools, structure, and encouragement I needed to succeed — not just in school, but in life.
Those lessons became the foundation for SchoolHouse Collaborative — a space built on understanding, compassion, and partnership. I believe every student deserves to be seen for who they are, supported in the way they learn best, and equipped with the tools to thrive in the world that exists beyond the classroom.
My approach is compassionate, realistic, and fiercely student-centered. I don’t promise to “fix” or change your child — instead, I promise to work alongside each student and family, meeting them where they are and growing from there.
